Ari Solotoff Speaks at Chamber Music America’s 2024 National Conference

Founder and Managing Attorney Ari Solotoff joins Deirdre Chadwick of BMI and Carolina Heredia of the American Composers Forum (ACF) on January 18, 2024, 2:30 PM ET for the Chamber Music America’s 2024 National Conference, Town Hall: Anatomy of a Commission Town Hall session.

Anatomy of a Commission, a new digital resource from the ACF, seeks to provide transparency about the commissioning process and encourage positive, equitable experiences among composers and collaborators.

At Thursday’s roundtable and discussion, contributors will share insight and invite questions and feedback to inform expanding the resource to include chamber music and small ensemble commissions. Hear from practitioners Ivette Herryman Rodriguez, Lindsay Kesselman, and Jenny Bilfield, who are applying these strategies as composers.

Attorney Solotoff was pleased to consult with the ACF and their stakeholders to create the Anatomy of a Commission’s Discussion Guide and Sample Deal Memo, a resource to help frame considerations that should be discussed between artistic parties prior to commissioning a new concert work for large ensemble.
